Zack, AC Slater, Screech, Kelly, Lisa, Jessie starred in Saved by the Bell for four memorable years. Now, fifteen years later, we wonder what became of the goofy gang?

We all remember the after school special about Zack Morris and his Bayside High buddies and their many misadventures. But, after they graduated, what became of the Bayside crew? Was there life for Zack, AC Slater, Screech, Kelly, Jessie and Lisa after Saved by the Bell? When the 4-year teen series ended in 1993, where did the gang go? And, furthermore, where are they now?

Zack Morris

Played by Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Zack Morris was the leader of the Saved by the Bell gang. After Bayside High, Gosselaar remained in the character of Zack in Saved by the Bell: The College Years alongside AC Slater, Kelly and Screech. In 1994, after the show was cancelled, Gosselaar graduated on to other TV shows including Hyperion Bay, where he played Dennis Sweeney in 1999 and NYPD Blue, where he played Detective John Clark Jr. from 2001-2005. In between shows, Gosselaar dabbled in made for television movies such as Dying to Belong and Atonic Twister. In 2007 Gosselaar moved to TV show Commander in Chief as Richard Dickie McDonald alongside movie greats Geena Davis and Donald Sutherland.

AC Slater

Before he was Dancing with the Stars, Mario Lopez played tough guy AC Slater on both Saved by the Bell and Saved by the Bell: The College Years. From there he became Officer Bobby Cruz on TV show Pacific Blue from 1998-2000. In 2006 Lopez procured a spot on the daytime soap The Bold and the Beautiful as Dr. Christian Ramirez before moving on to hosting duties on Entertainment Tonight and dancing competitions. Lopez shot back to worldwide fame in Dancing with the Stars, which led to his current duty as the host for America’s Best Dance Crew.

Samuel “Screech” Powers

Dustin Diamond played Screech, the nerd of the gang. After acting as Screech for a total of thirteen years, Diamond moved on to guest appearances in many television series and the reality TV show Celebrity Fit Club. However, it is his publicity stunt gone awry and his sex tape that made him notorious in the 21st century. Diamond, after appearing on the Howard Stern Show, claimed he was selling T-shirts called D-Shirts for 15$ in order to save his house and make some money. However, he failed to deliver the shirts and there were allegations that it was all just a publicity stunt. In 2006 a sex tape was released called Screeched or Save by the Smell which featured Diamond and some friends engaging in a variety of sexual acts.

Kelly Kapowski

The head cheerleader, Kelly, was played by Tiffani Thiessen. After Saved by the Bell: The College Years, Kelly hung up her pompoms and entered into movies such as Son-in-Law and The Stranger Beside Me, both mildly successful in the 90’s. She returned to television as Valerie Malone in Beverly Hills: 90210, and played the vixen from 1994-2000. She continued her successful television career as Marti in Two Guys, A Girl and A Pizza Place, as Billie Chambers in Fastlane and as Victoria Hill in Good Morning Miami. In 2005 she married fellow actor Brady Smith and returned to television as Natasha Drew in What About Brian.

Jessie Spano

Elizabeth Berkeley graduated from Bayside as good girl Jessie Spano. From good girl to showgirl, Berkeley bared all as Nomi Malone in Showgirls. She also made appearances in the 90’s movies The First Wives Club, Any Given Sunday and Cover Story. She moved on to guest appearances in various television shows such as NYPD Blue, CSI:Miami, Without A Trace, Twilight Zone and Law and Order: Criminal Intent. In 2004 she married Ralph Lauren’s nephew, Greg Lauren, and in 2006, she started askelizabeth.com, a website that helps young girls deal with the angst of growing up.

Lisa Turtle

Lisa Turtle, played by Lark Voohies, was the fashionista of Bayside High. Voohies joined Mario Lopez on The Bold and the Beautiful before making guest appearances in the television series The Parkers and The Love Boat. She took a long break from the acting world until 2002 when she appeared in the movies Widows, How High and Civil Brand, and in music videos for Dru Hill and Kenny LaHimore. In 1996 she married Miguel Coleman but that ended in divorce in 2004. She remarried in 2007 to Andy Prince and currently manages her own production company.

Mr. Belding

Dennis Haskins played the goofy principal of Bayside High. After the original Saved by the Bell class graduated, a new group of kids came in and Haskins remained the principal in Saved by the Bell: The New Class until 1999. After that, Haskins appeared in several movies such as Dead End Road, An Ordinary Killer and Tangy Guacamole. He is currently working on roles in three new movies.

The Saved by the Bell gang and their quirky principal have come a long way since the show’s 1993 end, dabbling with other television shows, movies and even pornography. However, they will always be remembered mainly for their roles as the fun-loving students of Bayside High.
